A Poem For Valentine's Day
There is a sadness, when a beautiful
daughter of mother nature is put to bed--
But Lady Winter, in the dusk of her year,
she soothes us with the beauty left behind.
The anger of cold, slippery days, and
long, chilling nights is then replaced
with the reality that, for another year,
we will not see the beauty of ice,
or the blessing of falling snow.
There is a longing, for that sprite,
that nymph, that playful butterfly
that is Spring. She nurtures the long-
slumbered trees with the essence of life.
As trees begin to awake, the pins and needles,
